Beautiful tropical houseplant with dark green, large, very distinctive. odd-shaped leaves with bright white veins which stand out from a distance

This plant has thick stems which they use to store moisture, so you should only water this plant when the soil dries out as it is very sensitive to overwatering.

A good tip is to water the plant and pick it up to feel its weight so you know how heavy it will feel.  Then wait 2 weeks and pick up the plant again, without having watered it in-between, to feel how light it is, so you know how it feels when it needs watering again.

This trick can be used throughout the year so you only water the plant when it feels light again.  It will usually need watering more often in summer and much less in winter.

Keep this plant in a bright position but away from direct sunlight otherwise the leaves will be scorched from the sun

It's quite a fast growing plant so will need feeding with a liquid fertilizer once a month in the growing season
