This Kent & Stowe Stainless Steel Perennial spade is the perfect tool for splitting up perennial plants with a pointed head for easy slicing through roots without damaging the plant. The midi handle also allows you to have more power and comfort when digging holes in beds and borders.
The spade will offer you an easy way to divide plants due to its sharper and narrower blade compared with a traditional digging spade. Perennial plants often have deeper roots compared to annuals, therefore using a perennial spade is ideal because it has a longer blade allowing for deeper planting depths to accommodate the roots. As perennials are also more sensitive to disturbance, this spade will help you minimise root damage during transplanting.
