This is a relatively new tree in the Ficus family and one that is not as sensitive to fluctuating conditions in the home
It will thrive in bright, indirect light and will tolerate more shade than other varieties
It likes warm and humid conditions, can tolerate higher temperature, but will decline in cold temperatures and it is best to avoid draughts and radiators being nearby
Allow the top inch of soil to dry out before watering. Use lukewarm water and water lightly to reduce the shock of water in the roots
Keep a consistent routine when watering as Ficus plants will naturally shed leaves and go into periods of dormancy
Use a liquid fertiliser in the growing period, once every 2 months
To increase humidity spray the foliage regularly and place the plant on a tray of damp pebbles
Ficus are fast growing houseplants and will need re-potting every 2-3 years
